I’ll be on a somewhat intermittent and inconsistent schedule for the rest of the year, as I navigate final grading (the work of the adjunct professor seemingly is never done) and attending to family commitments. I will post a short list of my favorite albums of 2022 on Monday. I’ll also have an appreciation of Blondie drummer Clem Burke (tied to the release of an excellent box set of the band released earlier this fall) up in the next few weeks. Look for work to come in The Progressive and an op-ed to be distributed through the same magazine to newspapers around the country. Channel Surfing is a lot of things for me: A labor of love, a side-hustle, a way to share my writing in this new fractured media landscape. It is a place for opinion, news, cultural commentary. As we move into the new year, I want to thank everyone who has been reading.
For those who have yet to sign up, please do. I will continue posting at least some free content on a regular basis. For those who want more, including access to subscriber-only stories, the ability to participate in chat-forums, comment on stories, consider a paid subscription. I’m offering it for half-price and a copy of my book, As an Alien in a Land of Promise, if you signup before Jan. 31. (Email me a mailing address and, once I have confirmation of subscription, I’ll get the book in the mail.)
