The unions representing most of Rutgers’ faculty were out in force on Wednesday to challenge the line the administration is spinning about Rutgers’ finances. President Jonathan Holloway and CFO J. Michael Gower are telling the public that we face a fiscal emergency, including a shortfall in recurring revenues. Then reality is Rutgers has a massive reserve fund and endowment, both of which have been have been growing. Rutgers has the money.
